Italy Wins! Zidane Loses [Jarrett Connor]

I simply cannot imagine what made him do it. Zidane was certainly the hero of the World Cup for his beautiful play (including the amazing assist in the win over Brazil) as well as for his immanent retirement. Instead of becoming soccer's venerable statesman, he looks like another hot head, exiting on a ridiculous red card for going bonkers. It is a shame. Not that I was pulling for Les Blues, but what happened? I am, in part, curious to learn what happened to send this veteran into a situation where he must plead temporary insanity, and on the other hand, I don't want to know. He blew it. They lost. He will be blamed.

Congrats to Italy.

(Afterall, the first goal for France was from a penalty awarded on a bad call anyway.)
