Masters Open Up Heart and Wallet

The Masters made charitable donations of $3.4 million on Tuesday to a variety of local and national charities.

The Community Foundation for the CSRA, an Augusta-based charitable foundation that seeks out local charities, recieved the largest grant -- $1.25 million.

The First Tee, a national youth development program, received $1 million from the event earlier this month.

Other organizations that received money were The First Tee of Augusta, the Tiger Woods Foundation and the U.S. Golf Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.

The Masters has made charitable contributions in excess of $29 million the past nine years.
