N.Y. Mets: Thank You Fred, Omar, & Willie [J. Mark English]

It is time for us all to stand and cheer for the doer, the achiever - the one who recognizes the challenges and does something about it. - Vince Lombardi

Dear Fred, Omar & Willie:

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Grateful does not begin to describe the Met fan feels. You have brought to the Queens hope...energy...fanaticism...pride...and even some of that, dare I say...Yankee way.
Thank you for nurturing the farm system. Thank you for not trading prospects before they became stars. Thank you for Jose Reyes, David Wright, Lastings Milledge, Aaron Heilman, John Maine and the countless other players they have come up from Norfolk and contributed to this team.
Thank you for opening your wallets indiscriminately. Thank you for Pedro Martinez. Thank you for Carlos Beltran. Thank you also for Billy Wagner, Carlos Delgado, Paul Lo Duca. And yes...thank you for the trades...even the bad ones...even the Kazmir trade (hope he recovers from his injury soon)...Thank you for the momentary time we had with Xavier Nady...but thank you for El Duque, Roberto Hernandez, John Valentine, and Shawn Green.
And thank you for stick with the old timers like Steve Traeschal and Tom Glavine.
Thank you for bring fun back into Shea Stadium.
We've won the division, and now everything this is gravy the rest of the season.
Thank you for October. Thank you for a golden autumn us Met fans have to look forward too.
And thank you for the many more October baseball to come in Shea, and then eventually in our new ball park.
And thank you for the network that will broadcast all our games.
Thank you for all of this...from the bottom of this Mets fan heart.
Yours truly,
J. Mark English
