Mets Need a Rocket

The Mets fast start may be more fragile then they're comfortable lead in the N.L. East suggests. With Zambrano out for the season, and a lack of a reliable starter beyond Martinez and Glavine, they are in need of someone who can assure that this season will be Amazin'.
Why not Roger Clemens? Yes he's worth 18 million dollars, but the price may be right for a chance to win the World Series.
Imagine the fear the Mets would impose on the rest of the league with Glavine, Martinez and the Rocket in the same rotation.
The cheaper way to go would be to trade for a pitcher like Barry Zito, or Dontrell Willis...but in both cases the Mets will have to give up something to get those pitchers. And in the case of Zito, they may wind up giving away a valuable prospect only to see Zito leave at the end of the season.
With the Rocket, there is no loss in talent. Only a large hit on the pocket book. But Shea would be buzzing all season with sell outs every night that the Rocket and Martinez are pitching. The Mets would increase revenue with higher ratings on SNY.
And at the end of the season, walking off the field as champs will be worth every penny of the 18 million dollars.
