Gilbert Arenas Out for Season [David Stefanini]
Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas is out for the remainder of the season with a torn meniscus.
This injury basically eliminates the Wizards from any contention for getting out of the first round of the playoffs, if they make it there. They have lost both of their All-Stars in less than a week. First it was Caron Butler who went down with a broken hand and now it is their MVP Arenas who is out with a knee injury.
It is one of those unfortunate things that happens in sports.
The good news is the injury in which Arenas has suffered is not the same kind that Amare went through. After 2-3 months of being out Arenas should be back to being 100%.
I would look for the Wizards next season to come back and compete for the Eastern Conference Title. They had a slight prayer this season, but will have to wait until next year to see if that prayer can come true.
