Hole in One Shot by 102 Year Old Woman [J. Mark English]
If you look at the leaders board right now in Augusta, Zach Johnson leads the field with a +1 score. Tiger Woods and Retief Goosen are nipping at his heels with the scores of +3. Not a single one of these golfers are hitting under par for the course, which shows how difficult the conditions have been to play in during the Masters.
Perhaps though, there is one person who would be able to do better then the pros have. I speak of Elsie McLean. She is 102 years old, and has become the oldest person to hit a hole in one:
It's quite an accomplishment just to still be playing golf at age 102, but making a hole-in-one is beyond special.
Elsie McLean is the oldest golfer ever to make a hole-in-one on a regulation course, surpassing a 2001 ace by a 101-year-old man in Florida.
At first, McLean thought she might have lost her ball on the par-three, 100-yard fourth hole at Bidwell Park in Chico, Calif. Because of the slope of the green, McLean and her partners couldn't see where her ball landed. They found it in the hole and the rest, as they say, is history.
It was the first ace for McLean, who has been featured in golf magazines before. She said that "for an old lady" she hits the ball "pretty good."
