Missing the Picture All Together with the Mets [J. Mark English]
I'm suffering much from watching the New York Mets the last two weeks. It feels like the 1990's over the past few weeks. All seems right with the universe because the Yankees are back on track. And the lovable losers, the Mets, are playing mediocre ball.
Here are what some of the bloggers are saying:
...I wonder what the clubhouse is like these days...I know that these guys are normally a laid back, tightly knit bunch of guys...I wonder if there's a sense of immediacy to get something going or a feeling that they're good and they'll just come out of this...I'm not sure which approach is better at this point, but maybe a little kick in the butt by 'country time' might do the trick... - Metsblog
---
Speechless...Is there really a worse time for the Mets to sh*t the bed? I know I'm going out on a limb here, but this really has been a bad stretch for the Mets. - Metropolitans
---
So much for Sosa...So hard when runs are so scarce...So sick of losing - Mets Geek
---
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
- Metsquire, quoting the poet William B. Yeats
