Pettitte Signs One-Year Deal With Yanks: [David Stefanini]

Andy Pettitte is once again a Yankee. ESPN.com is reporting that the Yankees have signed Andy Pettitte to a one-year, $16 million dollar contract; with a player option for the 2008 season. There are many people in the Bronx celebrating right now, none more than my girlfriend.

Pettitte is going to come in and sure up this Yankee rotation. Looking past his somewhat decent throwing stats, his pick-off move is the best in the game today. The Yankees are now going to be the favorites at the beginning of spring training, but when are they not?

Let's see if Pettitte can get back to the Cy Young form he was in at the end of the 1990's. With the offense the Yanks have, it's hard to see Pettitte winning less than 20 games as a full-starter.
