Jake Plummer, former quarterback of the Denver Broncos, is hanging in the cleats:

Just hours after rumors hit that Jake Plummer would be dealt by the Broncos to the Bucs, the 10-year pro has decided to retire, multiple media outlets reported Friday.

His career went from hero to zero quickly. Just two years ago he had the Broncos playing in the AFC Championship. Now he's retiring to next to little fanfare. Denver fans won't miss him a bit, because they are smitten with Jay Cutler.
