National Football League
  • New York Giants finally make a splash and trade WR Tim Carter for RB Reuben Droughns from the Cleveland Browns. (The Bears went to the Super Bowl with two bruisers are RB, maybe the Jints can do it with Droughns and Jacobs as a tandem...)
  • Brady Quinn finally gives NFL scouts the work out they have been looking for.
National Hockey League
  • New York Rangers pick up a point today, but lose to the Pittsburgh Penguins in OT.
  • Sidney Crosby becomes the first player to go over 100 points on the season so far. His team has certainly benefited from his play this year.
  • Meanwhile, the Nassau County DA may bring up charges on Chris Simon for his hockey stick hit on Ryan Hollweg.
  • Chris Simon will be out for an indefinite period of time.
NCAA Basketball

  • Who's in the tourney for sure? Here are the teams guaranteed to make it:
    • Ohio State, Delaware State, Florida, Davidson, George Washington, Holy Cross, Oral Roberts, Pennsylvania, Eastern Kentucky, Long Beach, Central Connecticut, Gonzaga, Wright State, Creighton, Vermont, Memphis, TAMU-CC, Winthrop, Georgetown, Niagara, North Carolina, Belmont.
  • North Carolina secured its already safe berth by beating Boston College.
  • Memphis knocked off Houston easily.
  • Kansas left no doubt against Kansas State.
National Basketball Association
  • New York Knicks can show they are no longer pretenders with a big win tonight over the Wizards.
  • Chicago Bulls Malik Allen released from hospital after scare of irregular heartbeat.
  • Ian Thomsen ponders why Yao Ming is not your typical NBA star....
Major League Baseball
  • New York Mets allow Duaner Sanchez to return but only after meeting with Willie Randolph.
  • Carl Pavano also rejoins Yankees staff after excused absence...
  • Wainwright looking like the real deal for the Cards as a starter.
The Rest of the Sports World...
  • Mark Martin has no intention of racing to win the Nextel Cup.
  • The Facebook website lands a USC football player in 'hot water': The racist Facebook group was created by a USC football player and showed a graphic of a black baby in handcuffs. An athletic department source said the group was a joke and had no serious purpose.
  • Finally, check out the latest cover of Sports Illustrated...is it a real news story or propaganda?:
