College Football: Early Decision [J. Mark English]
John Talman of Sports Illustrated brings us the latest on the eve of signing day for college football:
Two five-star prospects who were expected to make their big announcements on Wednesday, receiver Terrance Toliver and running back Noel Devine, went ahead and pulled the trigger one day early.

Toliver, the 6-foot-4, 185-pounder from Hempstead, Texas, apparently couldn't wait for the Wednesday press conference at his high school. The nation's No. 2 wide receiver went ahead and let the LSU coaching staff know he was going to be a Tiger....
...Good news arrived Tuesday when Alabama found out that Hoover High prospects Kerry Murphy and Josh Chapman were both committing to the Crimson Tide.

With the exception of West Virginia, once again the top recruits (at least four of the first five) are going to the S.E.C. Is there any debate really as to what conference in college football reigns? Had any other team from outside of the SEC finished undefeated, Florida would not have been eligible to play for the B.C.S. Championship, because they were not undefeated. But, given the opportunity to play in the game against Ohio State, they crushed the Buckeyes.
The S.E.C. is by far and away the best conference, and are living proof that NCAA needs to come up with a playoff system.
