Tiger Woods is Player of the Year Again: [David Stefanini]
For the eighth time in his career Tiger Woods has won the PGA Tour Player of the Year award. To show how truly dominate he has been since he won his first POY award in 1997 there have been only two years where he did not win it; 1998 and 2004. Every other year it has been Tiger.
This year was unlike any other year for Tiger. He took nearly two months off from golf after the passing of his father. In his first outing after his father's death he looked horrible and missed the cut at a championship, something he never did before. And then it happened; a 6 tournament win streak to end the year including two major championships. In those 6 tournaments he is 109 under par and looks like the Tiger Woods that has the rest of the golf world playing for second. Woods finished first in Wins, Earnings, Scoring Avg., and Green in Reg.
With the way he finished out this year, he looks to be the favorite for a re-peat next year. And unless he has a major injury he is going to be the favorite for the next 10 years to win the POY.
