Red Hot Rockies Go Up 2-0 [David Stefanini]
The Colorado Rockies have won 19 of their past 20 games. They have yet to lose a single post season game, and now they are up 2-0 in the NLCS, without even playing a home game.
Their pitching has been stellar, their hitting has come up big, and as Willy Taveras showed us last night, a little defense never hurts. As Jayson Stark puts it, can they lose:
But heck, does the plot line even matter anymore? Do the details ever get in the way of the Colorado Rockies these days?
They win when they hit. They win when they don't. They win when they pitch. They win when they don't. They win when they score early. They win when they score late.
The Rockies are becoming accustomed to these on-the-field handshakes because they've happened after 19 of their last 20 games.
And Friday, they even won when their closer blew a save with one out in the ninth inning.
It's enough to make you wonder: Is there any way they haven't found to win a game over the last four weeks?
